Tuned to the American hymn “Amazing Grace”

This chime is tuned to the inspiring tones of the first bars of “Amazing Grace”, one of America's most popular and well-known hymns.

The lyrics were written in the late 18th century by Englishman John Newton. As a young man aboard a merchant ship, Newton experienced a spiritual awakening during a deadly storm at sea. This was the beginning of a journey that turned the former slave trader into a vocal advocate for the abolition of slavery and transformed a man without conviction into a man of unshakeable faith.
