This professional gong mallet was designed for demanding gong players to bring out the best variety of sounds from each gong. The beech wood handle fits comfortably in the hand and gives a pleasant feeling when playing. The head ensures the best possible sound development by bringing the low frequencies of each gong to the fore. An override of the gong by too strong vibrations (tinny sound) as it often occurs with simple Cotton mallets is avoided with this one.
Suitable for gongs with a diameter of 40-100 cm, depending on the size. Each mallet is provided with a loop for hanging. The Fleece cover is not removable.
Comparison to the standard mallet
Each gong is supplied with a mallet that is wrapped in cotton. Although these mallets offer a precise touch, they are often too hard for professional use. With a soft or slightly harder fleece mallet, gongs can be struck more gently, emphasizing the lower frequencies of a gong without overdriving it. They are therefore ideal for use in meditation sessions or sound therapies of all kinds.
