Happy Buddha, actually Hotai or Pu-Tai, was an eccentric Chinese Zen monk of the Tang Dynasty. He was known for handing out candy to children on the street. His big belly and cheerful smile earned him the name "Happy Buddha".
According to legend, rubbing his belly brings good luck and prosperity. He is also known as a patron saint of the weak, poor and children.

Handcrafted, made of polyresin
