Oedo-Koh incense sticks with the precious scent of Aloeswood

Enjoy the gentle and calming effect of the precious scent of Aloeswood. It was highly prized as a luxury fragrance in ancient Edo (former name of Tokyo) - as it still is today - and is one of the most expensive fragrance ingredients in the world. In the incense sticks of OEDO-KOH Aloeswood, "Kyara Hime" is used as one of the finest forms of Aloeswood.

Oedo-Koh is a range of incense sticks made in Japan by Nippon Kodo. It was inspired by the culture and ambience of the ancient city of Edo (now Tokyo). The scent of aloe wood can be used at any time of day and is best for relaxation - whether meditating, doing yoga or a wellness treatment.

Only wealthy people and the nobility used to use the scent of incense. Even among ordinary people, who may not have had access to real scented woods, there was a fascination with these woods and they are often depicted in works of Kabuki and Joruri theatre. The word "kyara", which stands for aloe wood, even became a common term for "something wonderful".

This is what distinguishes the OEDO-KOH incense sticks "Aloeswood":

  • Quality incense sticks from Nippon Kodo
  • Precious, pure scent of finest aloeswood
  • Decorative wooden box in luxurious Japanese carton
  • Sticks without bamboo core for low smoke burning
  • Incl. small metal holder
  • 60 sticks, burning time approx. 12 min.
