Description

Edo Nishiki - Big Box

During the late Tokugawa era, art and culture flourished in Edo (modern-day Tokyo). It was a time of prosperity, and one of the artistic expressions of that period was fabric printing known as Edo Komon. In the samurai society, clothing was simple, but people sought to appear unique and distinctive by using patterns, colors, and designs on their fabrics. These decorative motifs extended to the Kabuki theater, Nishiki wood carvings, and many other aspects of daily life, conjuring images of a highly attractive world. Even today, these designs created long ago appear contemporary and continue to be a source of enthusiasm and inspiration. We hope this exquisite incense brings you much joy.

Scents:

  • Iki: 220 Sticks. - A delightful aroma featuring a bittersweet, fruity scent with a hint of crisp cinnamon and subtle vanilla notes. The Same Komon pattern on the box consists of overlapping sectors, each sector adorned with tiny diagonal dots. It is known to be as tough as armor and is considered a protective Talisman.
  • Tsuya: 220 Sticks. - Edo Nishiki Tsuya has a sweet and silky aroma. Its rich and intense powdery scent holds complex nuances, with a strong body note and a bittersweet base note. It is inspired by "Bintsuke abura," the vanilla and clove-scented head ornament worn by sumo Wrestlers.
