Japanese temple bells are a noble sight with their matte black surface. Their beauty is particularly emphasized on a colored singing bowl cushion.

DAITOKUJI temple bells are driven from metal with hammer blows, not turned from a solid piece of metal. Their bowl wall is relatively thin and becomes significantly thicker towards the rim.

Temple bells sound best when struck with a padded striker - rubbing them with a mallet is less recommended and can be difficult. Their bulbous shape gives them a warm, soft, and bell-like sound, which is well-suited for meditation and therapeutic applications.

Tip: When selecting the size, please note that the diameter is measured at the top of the bowl rim. Due to their bulbous shape and the height of the bowls, they appear significantly larger than the diameter would suggest.
