The lyre harp, also known as the lyre, is a traditional stringed instrument that has its roots in ancient Greece and is still valued today for its gentle and harmonious sounds. This special lyre harp is made of fine cherry and walnut wood, which not only gives it an aesthetically pleasing appearance, but also contributes to its unique sound character. It is traditionally played with a pick like a guitar and not plucked like a harp, which earned it the name lyre harp.
Material and construction:
- Wood: The body of the lyre harp is made from high-quality cherry wood, which is known for its warm, rich colouring and excellent acoustic properties. The fingerboard is made of walnut wood, which impresses with its dark, rich colour and high density.
- The surface is untreated and is therefore comfortable to hold. The wood conveys a direct warmth.

Strings: The lyre harp has 17 strings, which are strung at different lengths and tensions to produce a wide range of tones. The calyre is factory-tuned in C major, but can be tuned at any time using the enclosed tuning tool.
