Rubbing Clapper Small Without Leather- Recommended for Small Assam, Zen and Bellied Head Bowls
To make a singing bowl sound, you need a suitable clapper - either for rubbing or striking. Depending on the nature of the clapper, the singing bowl will sound bright or dark, loud or soft, long or short lasting. The sound of a bowl is significantly influenced by the clapper strike.
This is what distinguishes the Small Rubbing Clapper:

- Ideal e.g. for small Assam Singing Bowls (approx. 10-13 cm), Zen Singing Bowls (approx. 7 - 11 cm) or Bulbous Head Bowls
The correct stop of the Bowl:
Either the bowl is struck with the small clapper or rubbed. For the stop, the clapper is held loosely in the hand and the bowl briefly struck.
For the rubbing is usually some practice necessary. One rubs for it with the clapper outside along the edge of the bowl, without losing contact. Out comes then gradually a standing sound, which sounds like "Singing". The bowl is therefore also called in English "Singing Bowl" - Singing bowl.
To elicit different sounds from the bowl, several different mallets are recommended, for example, in addition to the small wooden mallet a small felt mallet or a wooden mallet coated with leather.
