Mary Magdalene - Symbol of All-Embracing Love, Wisdom and Eternal Peace
About Mary Magdalene (also known as Mary of Magdala) is reported in the New Testament. Her epithet refers to the town of Magdala on the Sea of Galilee in the Holy Land.
She was among the women who followed Christ and helped provide for his and the disciples' sustenance. These women followed their Lord to Jerusalem and watched the crucifixion from afar, helped with the burial and discovered the empty tomb on Easter morning. After Mary Magdalene reported this to the disciples, she was the first to be met by the Risen Lord, who told her the resurrection message to the disciples.
In the Gnosis, it is said that Mary Magdalene was the companion of Jesus.
The alabaster jar in her hands symbolizes Mary Magdalene anointing the feet or head of Jesus. Messiah also means "The Anointed One".
Material: The statue is cast in cast stone (polyresin) and thus appears very detailed.
