The sound samples only approximate the sound of the singing bowls, as the sound differs somewhat from bowl to bowl and depends on many factors such as metal composition, wall thickness, temperature etc. A deviation in the sound of the singing bowl sent from the sound samples audible here is therefore not a defect.
Traditional Manufacturing in India
The singing bowls are made in small workshops in India under special conditions that are characterised by tradition and craftsmanship. The secret metal composition, which has been passed down through generations, gives each bowl its unique sound character.
- First, a metal disc is placed in glowing heat. Skilful craftsmen then hammer out the bowl piece by piece with great dedication and strength. Numerous steps are necessary to achieve the perfect shape - a process that requires patience and passion.
- The surface is then carefully polished by hand so that the bowl shines in all its splendour.
